Yard Operative / Driver

Colchester

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Yard Operative/Driver to join our team. As a Yard Operative/Driver, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our medium sized yard based at our Birch office, ensuring efficiency and smooth running of the Yard and Plant. This is a key role in our organisation, requiring good organisation skills and the ability to effectively manage the yard area.

Monday to Friday – 8hr shift, working under the Resources Manager and based at our Birch office.

Responsibilities will include:
· Load and unload deliveries including the keeping of detailed electronic records of the movement of materials/equipment etc. Driving the forklift for off-loading and loading purposes when necessary
· Where necessary make deliveries to site using a 3.5 tonne vehicle
· Carry out routine/planned PAT electrical testing and maintain the appropriate electronic records. This will also involve visiting sites to carry out testing
· Service and maintain fire extinguishers including keeping the appropriate electronic records. This will also include visiting sites to carry out testing/servicing
· maintain electronic records of small consumables including signage, PPE and cleaning equipment.
· prepare and maintain company owned site accommodation welfare units

Skills:
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ideally qualified to use a fork-lift; full training can be provided
– Strong attention to detail

Pay dependent on experience.

This is a full-time role located in Stansted. The Bid Writer / Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and writing high-quality bids to secure new business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Excellent bid management and bid writing skills
• At least 3 years bid writing experience
• Proven tracked record of securing construction projects
• Strong communication skills to establish effective working relationships with the preconstruction and construction team
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and competing deadlines
